Experience Profile

IDIT provides specialized services to more than on thousand industrial customers, and participates in applied research projects at the national and international level.
Recent examples are:
- TASIO (Craft), an RTD project in the area of remote maintenance;
- FINDAUT, an RTD project to develop a machine to the cork industry;
- PREMI (Interreg IIIb), a project in the area of recyclability, miniaturisation and production waste reduction;
- INformarLOCAL, a content management system for the regional development agency.

Specialisms and Other Factors

Located in an important industrial area, where both traditional industries such as shoes, cork and ceramics, and modern industries such as moulds and autoparts can be found, and next to the new Porto Science and Technology Park, IDIT acts in selected horizontal areas, which are currently lasers for materials processing, robotics, integrated manufacturing systems, acoustics and vibrations and environmental technologies.
The activities of IDIT include the provision of industrial services, the development of R&TD contracts, consultancy and training, and it has a strong record of collaboration with industry in many successful projects.

IDIT is a private, independent, non-profit association, and employs 25 people, 3 of which hold a Ph. D. degree.
