LAR has long experience in R&D projects, funding by the European Community and Greek Government. In the last 8 years has been participated in more than 25 R&D projects with funding more than 7 MECU, it has been participated in 6 ESPRIT projects.

LAR has been selected recently by the Greek ministry of Industry to become a Center of excellence in providing advanced consulting services to Greek industries in the area of automation and control.

LAR has built a Computer Integrated Manufacturing Cell with advanced simulation capabilities.

Specialisms and Other Factors

LAR is distinguished research laboratory providing automation services and its Quality Management Systems has certificated with ISO 9000 for "Research and Experimental Development in Automation and Robotics for Industrial Processes". It was the Co-ordinator node of the Network of Excellence in Intelligent Control and Integrated Manufacturing Systems (ICIMS-NOE) with more than 200 Academic nodes and 100 Industrial nodes and the co-ordinator node of the Network of Excellence on Advanced Methodologies and Tools of Manufacturing Systems (AMETMAS-NOE)
